Even if she was in stasis for 100 years, she'd only emotionally be about 11 years old given her starting age of 8. The story could still have worked with an 11 year old as the main character, yet all the forced sex scenes that she took with complete nonchalance makes the narrator seem all the more emotionally detached. She should be sad, depressed even, yet Silver's attitude never fit her story.
